Dance Instructor: Talia Castro-Pozo
DJ: DJ John John

Hailing from Cali in Colombia, the entrancing sextet Las Guaracheras reimagines Afro-Caribbean rhythms through a woman's perspective. The group—comprised of vocalist Diana Sanchez, Daniela Vergara on bass and backing vocals, Elizabeth Hermann on piano, Kate Ortega and Gina Botia on percussion, and band director Laura Linares on congas—creates driving songs whose compositions and lyrics directly address the role of women in the music industry, especially in South America. At their Lincoln Center debut, Las Guaracheras performs a danceable set of salsa that expresses the power and strength of women as sources of love, hope, unity, resilience, and creativity.
