Presented in collaboration with New Latin Wave

FUTUROS: New Ideas in Composition showcases some of the most compelling Latine artists working at the intersection of contemporary, experimental, and neo-classical music. This boundary-defying concert series at the David Rubenstein Atrium presents bold new pieces that celebrate the richness and complexity of Latine cultures, and highlights artists whose work expands the narrative of what Latine music can be, honoring diverse musical traditions while exploring new sonic futures.

Join us for the world premiere of the opera mad scramble for crumbs by inti figgis-vizueta, a composer who works to reconcile historical aesthetics and experimental practices with trans and Indigenous futures. This “ever-intriguing, rising new music star” (LA Times) is not to be missed!
