Performing together in the U.S. for the first time, Água de Moringa and singer Mariana Baltar present Arcos do Choro: a recital celebrating Brazil’s choro tradition and the legacy of lyricist Aldir Blanc. The program features instrumental compositions and songs by Blanc, alongside music by legends Pixinguinha, João Bosco, Jacob do Bandolim, Nazareth, and Moacyr Luz, with exclusive arrangements of classic and contemporary pieces. Drawing from their 2019 collaboration Os Arcos—Paixão e Morte, the program honors Blanc’s 80th birth anniversary through a musical portrait of the people and culture of Rio de Janeiro. Presented in collaboration with Choro Camp New England and Brazilian Performing Artists, Arcos do Choro brings the energy of choro to the center of the city.
