Lincoln Center's hands-on Create-athons offer inspirational and engaging art-making workshops for teens and young adults. At WHIZZ/BANG!, budding filmmakers and film-lovers will have the opportunity to explore the world of cinematic sound effects. We will provide participants with everyday household materials, then ask you to solve an audio challenge: How can you re-create the sound of a door slamming with a spatula? Or of two people kissing with a plunger? Participants will collaborate in small groups to score a short sequence from a famous silent film, then screen the final product to the other participants.
