Where classical precision meets Korean tradition you'll find CelloGayageum. Founded in 2016 by Viennese cellist Sol Daniel Kim and Korean Gayageum player Dayoung Yoon, this creative pair bridges the soulful depth of Western classical music with the mesmerizing elegance of the Korean traditional music known as gug-ak. Their unique collaboration as a string duo celebrates the beauty of connection between instruments, histories, and people. Playing a selection of original compositions from their sophomore album, 2023's 2.0, that come rooted in Korean folk melodies and infused with international sensibilities, CelloGayageum creates a sound that is at once ancient and refreshingly modern. Join us for the NYC and Lincoln Center debut of two artists who are shaping the future of global chamber music.
