For more than six decades, Carmen de Lavallade moved through dance, theater, opera, and film with a grace that transformed every stage she touched. Join us for an evening celebrating her extraordinary life and enduring artistry, told largely through her own image: a rich program of film spanning the decades of her career, revealing the depth of her gift, the warmth of her spirit, and the very essence of what it means to be an artist. The evening features a special performance by dancers from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Dance Theatre of Harlem—two companies woven into the fabric of her legacy. Together, we honor a trailblazer who broke barriers, mentored generations, and served as a guiding blueprint for the artists who follow her. Come share in her memory, her movement, and her light.
