RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars favorite Shuga Cain presents Orgullo y Opulence (Pride and Opulence). Part cabaret, part concert, and part cultural journey, Orgullo y Opulence explores the rich and often overlooked history of queerness within Latine culture. Rooted in a search for belonging, this heartfelt production incorporates music, live performance, visual art, and stories inspired by historical archives and uncovered through personal discovery. Traditional mariachi intertwines with contemporary queer artistry, creating a vibrant dialogue between resilient generations of creativity and celebration. A classically trained vocalist with a master's degree in music, Shuga Cain is joined by acclaimed Los Angeles-based mariachi guitarist, singer-songwriter and LGBTQIA+ activist Mary Alfaro Velasco. Together they fuse the timeless traditions of mariachi with drag, song, and storytelling to create a deeply personal and joyfully theatrical love letter to the queer Latine community.
