Lincoln Center's hands-on Create-athons offer inspirational and engaging art-making workshops for teens and young adults. Professor Stephanie Dinkins, acclaimed cross-disciplinary artist and creator of BINA48, the first socially engaged AI humanoid robot crafted to resemble a Black woman, presents a workshop about how technology can inform creative craft. With particular emphasis on how marginalized audiences can take artistic ownership of commercial AI programs, Professor Dinkins will present exercises that utilize computational power to provide a foundation for creators to put a shape to their imagination. For anyone of any age who would like to explore how contemporary tech can serve as a collaborative force for storytelling, this is the opportunity to get a deeper understanding of software's use in the arts. Come with your own ideas and see them come to life!
