Guitar prodigy Marcus Machado is known for his boundary-pushing rock, funk, and soulful stylings. In this Lincoln Center performance, Machado honors two of the groundbreaking artists who influenced his own work: D'Angelo and Prince. The musical tribute to the late legends features Jermaine Holmes and Rojo Lavoe, vocalists and members of D'Angelo's band The Vanguard. Joining this communal effort are singer/songwriter Sandra St. Victor of The Family Stand and Lawrence “L.A.W” Worrell, a guitarist and singer who has worked with Amy Winehouse and George Clinton.

Gathering: An R&B Story is a series celebrating the music, culture, and community of R&B through performances and conversations. The series honors the genre's enduring legacy while spotlighting the artists shaping its future.
