You are invited to join us for a remarkable Nordic Next collaboration featuring members of the Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center—playing some of Northern Europe's most acclaimed composers in celebration of the inventive, boundary-pushing artistry of the Nordic countries. Expanding beyond their annual Summer for the City season, members of the Festival Orchestra perform key works by Danish composer Carl Nielsen (1865-1931), Swedish composer Franz Berwald (1796-1868) and contemporary Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir. This new Up Close series in the David Rubenstein Atrium introduces audiences to the talents of Festival Orchestra musicians in more intimate chamber music configurations. The performance also includes a post-show artist Q&A.

Nordic Next is presented in collaboration with the Consulates General of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden in New York, and with the Embassy of Iceland in Washington, D.C., with additional support from the American-Scandinavian Foundation.
